Privacy Policy

TinySafe ("we," "us," or "our") is operated by Angela Lee. This Privacy Policy explains what information the TinySafe app ("the App") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We built TinySafe to help parents stay ahead of baby product recalls, and we designed it to collect as little personal information as possible. By using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

Information we collect

Information you provide

• Email address — provided by Apple or Google when you sign in; used to identify your account.
• Brands you follow ("watched brands") — the baby brands you choose to monitor for recalls.
• Your child's stage and age range — a general stage (newborn / baby / toddler / preschool) and a coarse age range (e.g. "0–3 months," "1–2 years"), used to personalize relevant recalls.

Information stored only on your device (never sent to us)

• Your child's name
• Your child's exact date of birth (month/year)

These remain in local storage on your device and are never transmitted to our servers or any third party. If you delete the App or your account, they are removed from your device.

Information collected automatically

• Approximate location — if you grant location permission, we use your general region (such as state or city) to prioritize recalls that affect your area. We do not collect precise GPS coordinates, and the App works fully without location access. You can change this anytime in your device Settings.
• Usage and analytics data — we use Google Firebase Analytics to understand how the App is used so we can improve it. Firebase automatically collects standard analytics data, including: app usage and events (such as screens viewed, sessions, and retention); a device-level identifier (an app-instance identifier tied to your device, not the cross-app advertising identifier / IDFA, which we do not collect); device and diagnostic information (such as device model, operating system version, and performance data); and a coarse, IP-derived approximate location (such as country or region). This data is used in aggregate to improve the App and is not used to track you across other companies' apps or websites.
• Account activity — such as sign-up date and last activity, to operate and improve the service.
• Notification interactions — whether notifications are enabled and how you respond to alerts, to improve their relevance.

How we use information

• To show recalls and prioritize the ones most relevant to your child's stage, age range, watched brands, and (if enabled) region.
• To send recall alerts via push notification.
• To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the App.
• To understand usage trends in aggregate so we can build better features.

We do not sell your personal information.

How information is stored and shared

We use these service providers, which process data on our behalf:

• Google Firebase — authentication (sign-in), database (your account profile, watched brands, child stage and coarse age range), and analytics (the automatic usage, identifier, diagnostic, and coarse-location data described above).
• OneSignal — push notifications. To deliver alerts, OneSignal receives your device's push token and tags for the brands you watch (for example, brand_coppertone). OneSignal also collects, as part of providing its service, its own device-level identifiers, a subscription identifier, and IP-derived information. We do not send your email address or account ID to OneSignal.
• Apple / Google Sign-In — login.

Each account's data is protected so you can access only your own information. We do not share your personal information with advertisers or data brokers.

Your choices and rights

• Use without an account — browse recalls without signing in.
• Location — optional; control it in your device Settings anytime.
• Notifications — control them in your device Settings anytime.
• Delete your account and data — from within the App (Settings → Delete account). This removes your account record from our servers and wipes your local data, including your child's name and date of birth. For Sign in with Apple, we also revoke the associated Apple token.
• Questions — contact us anytime (below).

Children's privacy

TinySafe is intended for use by parents and caregivers (adults), not by children. The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Information about your child (stage and age range) is provided by you, the parent; your child's name and exact birth date are kept only on your device.

Data retention

We retain your account information while your account exists. When you delete your account, we delete your account record from our servers and your local data from your device. Aggregated, de-identified analytics that cannot reasonably identify you may be retained to improve the App.

Security

We use industry-standard measures, including authenticated access rules that restrict each account's data to that account. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice in the App.

Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the TinySafe mobile application ("the App"), operated by Angela Lee ("we," "us," or "our"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. What TinySafe does

TinySafe helps parents and caregivers stay informed about recalls and safety alerts for baby products, drawing on publicly available data from sources such as the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The App lets you browse recalls, follow brands, and receive alerts.

2. Not professional, medical, or safety advice

TinySafe provides information for general awareness only. It is not a substitute for professional, medical, legal, or safety advice, and it is not an official government source. Recall information may be incomplete, delayed, or change over time. Always verify critical information directly with the manufacturer or the relevant authority (e.g., FDA, CPSC) and consult a qualified professional for medical or safety decisions. We do not guarantee the App will identify every recall relevant to you, or that information is complete, accurate, or current.

3. No warranty

The App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that recall data will be complete or timely.

4. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Angela Lee will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss arising from your use of or reliance on the App or any recall information in it. Your use of the App is at your own risk.

5. Your account

Some features require signing in with Apple or Google. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for activity under it. You may delete your account at any time within the App.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the App, including by attempting to disrupt it, access it in unauthorized ways, scrape or copy its data at scale, or use it for any unlawful purpose.

7. Intellectual property

The App, including its design, branding, and original content, is owned by Angela Lee and protected by applicable laws. Recall data originates from third-party and government sources and remains subject to their respective terms.

8. Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect and how we use it.

9. Changes to the App and these Terms

We may modify or discontinue the App, or update these Terms, at any time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, without regard to its conflict of laws principles.
